Eagles book spot in AFL grand final

//

The West Coast Eagles have booked their tickets to the 2018 grand final with a crushing 121-55 victory over the Melbourne Demons.

A walloping 18 goals saw the Demons’ fairy-tale finals run come to an abrupt finish as the Eagles ran riot in front of a record crowd at Optus Stadium.

West-Caost hit the ground running and never looked back in a first half blitz that saw the visitors fail to score a single goal in the first two-quarters.

That’s a feat the visitors hadn’t suffered since a 2009 round five loss to the Adelaide Crows.

But for all their woes a small third-quarter comeback gave the travelling fans something to cheer about.

Jake Melksham bagged a double as the Dees kicked four in the quarter to offer a glimmer of hope.

But the Eagles weren’t about to let slip as Josh Kennedy led from the front to kick four.
