Port star red-faced over lude photo

//

Port Adelaide youngster Sam Powell-Pepper has been forced to apologise for his off-field indiscretions once again after being involved in a lewd photo scandal.

The Power and the AFL are investigating the photo that appeared on Powell-Pepper's personal Instagram story, showing him in his underwear with a female lying on his thigh.

The 20-year-old took to his Instagram account to offer an apology on Friday afternoon.

"I just want to apologise for an image I posted earlier today of me and my girlfriend, Powell-Pepper wrote.

"I posted the image by accident and immediately removed it once I realised.

"It’s a private image that was not intended to be shared publicly.

"Apologies if I have offended anyone."

The scandal comes following another off-field incident for the young midfielder at the start of the 2018 season.

Powell-Pepper was suspended for three games after an investigation into an incident at an Adelaide nightclub.

Following a stunning debut season in 2017, the dynamic midfielder struggled to build on his first year, but managed to average 19.1 disposals per game in 16 appearances.
