Bolt bags a brace in Mariners victory

//

Former world’s fastest man Usain Bolt has scored his first goal for the Central Coast Mariners to reignite his bid for a Hyundai A-League contract.

Bolt looked out of sorts in his first appearance for the Mariners, but on Friday night was all business as he started in the centre forward position against Macarthur South West United.

After some early jitters, Bolt showed positive signs as he bested his defenders on the through ball to trouble the United goal, before moments later flashing a strong header inches wide of the post.

But he was rewarded for his efforts in the 57th when he got onto the end of a chip over the defensive line before clinically drilling the ball into the keeper’s near post, sending Campbelltown Stadium into pandemonium.

The fairytale wasn’t finished howver with the lofty Jamaican nabbing a second off a goalkeeping howler as he walked the ball into the net to take the lead to 4-0.

MORE TO COME.
