How Cup punter turned $10 into over $75,000

//

The Melbourne Cup is a betting bonanza for most punters but there is always a select few whose luck or lack of luck can stand out.

After Cross Counter pulled out the thrilling comeback win, a TAB customer had partnered Cross Counter winning at $26 along with The Autumn Sun to take out the Caulfield Guineas at $14 and Brooks Kopeka to win the US PGA Championship at $21 to take out an incredible $76,440 from a simple $10 multi bet.

Another punter also walked away with a cool half a million after putting $50,000 on Cross Counter to win at $10.

However, it wasn't all roses for some with a few punters having a horror day at the races.

One punter unfortunately went all in on the pre-race favourte Yucatan, loading up $35,000 before the favourite disappointed by finishing 11th.
