Ben Simmons was just two assists shy of another triple-double but had to settle for a season-high 26 points in the Philadelphia 76ers' big NBA win over the undermanned Toronto Raptors.

Simmons added 12 rebounds in a double-double performance, while Joel Embiid had 27 points and 11 rebounds and JJ Redick contributed 22 points in a 126-101 home win for Philadelphia.

Australian Jonah Bolden also made a solid contribution off the bench for the Sixers with four points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

Toronto rested All-Star Kawhi Leonard, while Serge Ibaka (knee) and Jonas Valanciunas (thumb) also failed to suit up for the Raptors.

Pascal Siakam's 26 points and 20 from Kyle Lowry helped to keep Toronto in the hunt before the Sixers ran away with the game.

The Raptors led by as many as seven in the opening half but the hosts outscored the visitors 61-42 in the second.

The Sixers improved to 22-12 for the season. Toronto (25-10) still lead the eastern conference with the best record in the NBA.
