Harris floored by vicious second-innings Bumrah bouncer

//

Australian opener Marcus Harris has been floored early in the second innings following a vicious bouncer from Jasprit Bumrah.

The incident occurred early into Bumrah’s spell, when the Indian paceman thumped in a bouncer from around the wicket and collected Harris squarely on the badge on his helmet.

The contact was so severe that Harris was immediately sent crashing to the ground, while the ball ricocheted all the way to the cover fielder.

Harris was attended to by the Indian fielders immediately after the hit, before being checked up by the Australian medical staff and given a brand new helmet.

The young Western Australian who is in his second career Test match was unflappable as ever following the incident.

“Yeah all good, might need a new helmet,” Harris told the Indian fielders.

After a quick consultation from the Australian medical staff, Harris was cleared to eventually continue his innings.

However, Australia soon suffered a key blow with Harris' opening partner retiring hurt due to a finger injury.
