Renshaw shatters Queensland batting record

//

Australian Test discard Matthew Renshaw has taken out his frustration at non-selection for the series with India by slamming a record 345 in Queensland Premier cricket for Toombul in Brisbane.

Renshaw's triple ton from 273 balls featured 38 boundaries and a dozen sixes as he plundered the Wynnum-Manly first-grade attack at Oxenham Park on Saturday as Toombul amassed 4-550 after batting first in the two-day game.

The 22-year-old opener, who's played 11 Tests, eclipsed the previous competition record set by former Queensland opener Wade Townsend, who made 311 not out for Toombul in 2009-10.

Renshaw, who suffered his latest concussion while fielding for Australia in a warm-up game for the two-Test series with Pakistan in the UAE in September, was the last Toombul batsman dismissed.

Sam Rowley also contributed a comparatively pedestrian 90 from 211 balls.
