Broncos surprise as cult hero signs

//

The Brisbane Broncos have signed veteran forward Shaun Fensom to a one-year contract.

The Broncos announced the signing on Monday, as they returned to training. Fensom, 30, has become something of a cult hero across 174 NRL games with the Raiders and Cowboys, thanks to his enormous appetite for work and tough, unassuming nature.

Fensom played in the 2017 grand final with North Queensland, but broke his leg in two places during the match. He will add experience and starch to a Brisbane side that lost Test forward Josh McGuire to the Cowboys after last season.
