'Don't turn your back on Ben Simmons!'

//

Ben Simmons has had a hot and cold start to the new year as the Philadelphia 76ers stumbled and then hung on to defeat a late-surging Los Angeles Clippers 119-113 in the NBA.

The 76ers led by as much as 24 points in LA on Tuesday, but with Simmons missing three straight free throws with 25.6 seconds to go and his team faltering the Clippers cut the lead to four.

Simmons sealed the game with an emphatic dunk and a bit of trickery bouncing the ball off the back of LA's Sindarius Thornwell to then set himself up for the slam.
