LIVE: Rain hampers play at Sydney International

//

Rain has hampered day two of the Sydney International with Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic round of 32 clash against Italy's Camila Giorgi suspended for the afternoon.

Play is estimated to resume at 4:20pm(weather permitting) with crews working tirelessly to dry courts ahead of the evening's action.

Australian male No.1 Alex de Minaur, Sam Stosur, Daria Gavrilova and Matthew Ebden are also scheduled for action on day two.

Meanwhile World No.7 Karolina Pliskova has withdrawn from the rain-marred tournament less than a day after winning the Brisbane tournament.

Pliskova was a notable absentee on Monday from the women's draw in which she was slated for a rematch with Brisbane finalist Lesia Tsurenko in the first round.

The world No.24 Tsurenko has also withdrawn from Sydney, where rain has delayed play.
