Hodges takes just 75 seconds to win debut bout

//

On the undercard to the John Hopoate and Paul Gallen boxing main event, a former NRL star made a successful pro debut.

Retired Broncos, Queensland Maroons and Australian Kangaroos legend Justin Hodges needed just over a minute to launch his heavyweight boxing career.

Hodges made light work of fellow Queenslander Rob Baron with a TKO finish in front of a crowd mixed with familiar faces from the rugby league and boxing community.

Hodges had furniture removalist Baron on the ropes inside 45 seconds and he needed just one more flurry of punches for referee Leslie Fear to stop the mismatch.
