Giants hand football lesson to dismal Dons

//

Stephen Coniglio has put his hand up as one of the game's most elite players as the GWS Giants opened its season with a bang.

With both Josh Kelly and Callan Ward missing through injury, Coniglio was a colossus for the Giants, finishing with 31 disposals and three goals as the Giants prevailed 16. 16. (112) to 5. 10. (40) winners.

The loss was especially disappointing for the Bombers, one of the pre-season premiership favourites, who were thoroughly beaten in all facets of the game.

Former Giants star Dylan Shiel returned to his old stomping ground and finished with 25 disposals and was among the best in a poor side.

More to come
