Kyrgios fumes at double-standard after Djoker loss

//

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has slammed the media's coverage of him in the wake of Novak Djokovic's stunning Indian Wells exit.

Djokovic, who is currently the world No.1, was beaten by world No.39 Philipp Kohlschreiber 4-6 4-6 after the German veteran took out Kyrgios earlier in the tournament.

Kohlschreiber's win over Djokovic was his first over the Serbian in 10 years and the result prompted people to question whether Djokovic was fully healthy.

However, after he was criticised for losing to Kohlschreiber earlier in the tournament, the double-standard when it applied to the Australian Open champion left Kyrgios fuming.

"Lol yeah, something has to be wrong with him right?" Kyrgios tweeted at a fan.

"I lose to (Kohlschreiber) and get absolutely shredded ‘same old Kyrgios’ how about the guy is just good? And he knows how to win matches?

"Hate this, why we always gotta kiss these guys when they lose."

Kohlschreiber's win over Djokovic was also his first career win over a top-ranked player, and he will look to continue his success against France's Gael Monfils in the fourth round.
