Madrid star involved fiery spat with club president

//

Real Madrid was left red-faced earlier this week after being bundled out of the UEFA Champions League by Ajax and now things have gone bad to worse for the Spanish giant.

According to an AS report, club captain Sergio Ramos was involved in a fiery exchange with Madrid president Florentino Perez, after Perez reportedly attacked the playing group for their perceived lack of dedication that he labelled "disgraceful".

Following Perez's rant, Ramos responded and defended the playing group, accusing Perez of poor planning prior to what has turned into a disastrous season for the 13-time European Champions.

Ramos is understood to have looked directly at Perez before saying "pay me up and I'll go".

"I've given everything and busted a gut for this badge, for this club and even for you," Ramos reportedly told Perez.

The 32-year-old Spanish international is one of the club's longest-serving players with 416 league appearances for Real Madrid after arriving at the club in 2005 from Sevilla.

Ramos has been no stranger to controversy throughout his career, famously playing a part in the injury to Liverpool talisman Mohammed Salah in last year's Champions League final.

The Madrid skipper and Perez were understood to have met following the incident, but according to an AS report, the meeting did little to heal the rift between the two power-brokers.
