SBW breaks down in tribute to Christchurch

//

Cross-code football star Sonny Bill Williams has broken down in an emotional video tribute to the victims of the Christchurch Mosque Shootings.

An emotional Williams fought back tears as he offered his thoughts and prayers to the victims and families affected by the tragedy in a video shared on his Twitter page.

A converted Muslim himself, the All Blacks star was at a loss for words as he struggled to comprehend the attack on his religious community.

"Just heard the news I couldn't put it into words how I'm feeling right now," Williams said in the video.

"Just sending my duas to the families apparently, there's close to 30 people dead.

"(I'm) sending out my duas to everyone that's been killed today in Christchurch...you guys are all in paradise.

"I'm just deeply, deeply saddened this would happen in New Zealand.

“My heart is hurting about.”

The Christchurch shooting took place at Masjid Al Noor mosque in Hagley Park at 1.40pm local time.

New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush recently held a press conference and revealed multiple improvised explosive devices had been found.

He confirmed four people are now in custody: three men and a woman.

He could not provide an update on the number of people killed but said there had been "multiple fatalities".
