Conor McGregor in fresh police probe

//

Another day and another brush with the law for controversial UFC star Conor McGregor, with the Irish fighter now accused of punching a man in an Irish pub.

Police are investigating claims McGregor lashed out at a man who taunted him over his loss to undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov last year.

The Sun reports McGregor became aggressive at the Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh, when a patron said “the Russian battered you”.

A source told The Irish Mirror: “There was a bit of a commotion, he [McGregor] was acting the mick and there was an incident.

“There weren’t many people in the bar at the time, there was drink involved.

“The man that was allegedly assaulted is from Ballyfermot and drinks in the pub a good bit.”

An Irish police (Garda) spokesperson confirmed they were investigating the incident:

“Gardai are investigating an incident at a pub in Drimnagh, Dublin on April 6, 2019.

“No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.”

The latest allegation comes ahead of an expected court appearance in Miami this week for McGregor, relating to an incident where he stole and smashed a fan’s phone outside a nightclub in the early hours of the morning.

The UFC fighter was arrested for smashing Ahmed Abdirzak’s phone outside the Fontainebleau Hotel.

Abdirzak filed a $15,000 civil lawsuit against McGregor but has reportedly dropped the case according to TMZ.

McGregor has experienced several legal issues since his massive payday for his fight against undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

Last year McGregor attacked a bus carrying UFC fighters, including Nurmagomedov, at a media event in New York, and was sentenced to undergo anger management and community service.

The Irishman is also under investigation for an alleged sexual assault in Ireland.

McGregor has also come under fire for tweeting pictures of Nurmagomedov’s wife on their wedding day.

In a tweet that was subsequently deleted, he posted an image of Khabib on his wedding next to his wife, who was wearing a veil covering her face, with the caption: “Your wife is a towel mate.”

Nurmagomdeov hit back by taunting McGregor over the sexual assault allegations levelled at McGregor, accompanied by a photo of the Irishman with a woman he’s alleged to have had a fling with resulting in her giving birth to his alleged love child.

McGregor denies the child is his and claims the lady in question slept with one of his friends.
