Crows star stretchered off after gruesome injury

//

Adelaide's season has gone from bad to worse with midfield star Paul Seedsman suffering a suspected ACL tear in his left knee.

The incident occurred with the Crows trailing by 22 points late in the fourth quarter when Seedsman landed awkwardly after a marking contest.

The nature of Seedsman's injury was so gruesome that the crowd in attendance at the Adelaide Oval audibly gasped in horror upon seeing replays.

Replays showed that Seedsman experienced a significant hyper-extension of his knee and was stretchered from the ground.

The knee injury was the latest in what has been a career filled with injury setbacks for the 27-year-old midfielder.

Seedsman was drafted 76th overall in the 2010 draft by Collingwood and played 49 games for the Magpies between 2011 and 2015 before requesting a trade to the Crows.

Despite being supremely talented, as evidenced by his terrific torpedo goal in Round 2, Seedsman has struggled to stay on the field and has played just 90 games in nine seasons.

Following the injury, there was an outpouring of support for the unfortunate Crows star, including a message from Port Adelaide star Travis Boak.

Seedsman's injury comes at an inopportune time for the Crows who have already lost star defender Tom Doedee to a knee injury in the Round 1 loss to Hawthorn.
