Hasler reveals reason behind Suli axing

//

Manly Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler has discussed the reasons behind Moses Suli's omission from his squad for Round 4.

The Sea Eagles announced their team to face the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 4 on Tuesday and Suli's curious absence raised eyebrows.

However, on the eve of Round 4, Hasler opened up on why he chose to leave out the 20-year-old centre.

"It’s an internal disciplinary thing, it’s nothing to do with integrity," Hasler told reporters.

"But there are certain standards that the players themselves maintain, and he fell below a couple of performance standards. So consequently won’t be playing this weekend.

"I won’t be going into the details. It’s not attitude there are just certain standards we insist on and he didn’t comply.

"It’s not a big incident, it’s a learning curve for a footballer who has plenty of potential. He was very remorseful."

Being omitted from Hasler's squad is the latest in a long line of incidents to begin Suli's career after he was sacked by both the Bulldogs and Tigers in the space of a month in 2018.
