Holmes' manager shopping around NFL announcement

//

Former Cronulla star Valentine Holmes has returned to Sydney following his stint in the US but has stayed silent regarding his future in the NFL.

Holmes touched down at Sydney airport early on Monday morning and was met by members of the media, who were eager for the ex-NRL star to spill the beans on what might be next in his US journey.

But he moved through the arrivals area and towards the carpark without saying much. When asked if he was "happy or not happy", Holmes replied: “I’m just laughing at you guys”.

Reports suggest Holmes' agent Chris Orr has been trying to find a buyer for the star's announcement on his future plans.

He's expected to reveal which direction he'll be taking in the next few weeks as he takes a break.

Holmes recently impressed NFL scouts at a recent pro day, where he ran a 4:45 in the 40-yard dash.

Following his performance at the NFL audition, reports surfaced of the Cleveland Browns and the Minnesota Vikings expressing an interest in the Queenslander.

Holmes has a couple of options which could lead him to his ultimate goal of playing in the NFL.

The former Sharks fullback could either be given a chance through free agency or could get the green light via the league’s International Pathway Program.

If that happens, he will be sent to a franchise in the AFC East, which has been dominated by last year's Super Bowl champions the New England Patriots for several years.
