Outraged Fifita calls out 'cheap s---' tackle

//

Former NRL star David Fifita, twin brother of Cronulla Sharks forward Andrew, has blasted a Super League opponent for a nasty-looking tackle.

The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats player took to social media and posted a video of what he called "cheap s---" from a Wigan player, tackling him at his knees, from behind.

Fifita, 29, claimed such an act was potentially career-threatening.

"Plz I love my job!! [sic]" Fifita said on Twitter.

"Don’t take it away with ur cheap s--- [sic]."

Wakefield won the game 30-20, but Fifita seems to have developed a rivalry with Wigan, criticising their players' "grubbiness" last year.

"It was a crazy game. A lot of naughty stuff which should have been penalised," Trinity coach Chris Chester said after the win.

"Certainly Lyne's (injury) could have been avoided and a couple other challenges where players attacked the knees.

"As soon as that is eradicated the better because it was ridiculous. I thought it could have been dealt with better."
