Tips: Why Joey's gone off a heavyweight

//

The likely absence of South Sydney star Greg Inglis has opened the door for one of the biggest upsets of the season, with rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns picking Manly to make it two wins in a row when the sides clash at Lottoland on Saturday.

The Rabbitohs have started life under Wayne Bennett in supreme fashion and sit equal top of the ladder with the Storm - the NRL's only two undefeated sides after three rounds.

Despite a boost to the Rabbitohs' forward pack, with George Burgess in for his first game of the season following a four week suspension for an eye-gouge in last year's end of season Test between England and New Zealand, Johns sees instability in Souths' backline being an area the Sea Eagles can exploit.

"I'm going to go for a huge upset here. No Inglis, also no Braidon Burns in the centres, all new combinations out wide, I just think Manly can sneak home on the back of Turbo (Tom Trbojevic)," Johns told Wide World of Sports.

After being named in the Rabbitohs' side on Tuesday it has emerged that Bennett has told the ageing star he will not take the field again unless he can do so without the help of a pain killing injection.

It's understood that Inglis was given a shot to play Souths' Round 2 match without the knowledge of Bennett who is notoriously anti-pain killing injections.

"Inglis can't play unless he has pain killers. Wayne Bennett won't let players play with pain killers," Johns re-iterated.
