Tommy Turbo suffers injury nightmare

//

Manly superstar Tom Trbojevic has limped from the field with a hamstring issue, re-injuring the same leg he had hurt in the NRL pre-season.

Trbojevic was returning a South Sydney kick early in Saturday afternoon's second half when he pulled up without being tackled, and was taken immediately up the tunnel.

“That’s shattering,” Greg Alexander said in commentary.“Back for one game and he was absolutely killing them and was playing so well again here today.

“Suffering the same injury when returning from a hamstring injury is not a good sign.”

Club officials have since confirmed he will not return, with the injury coming two months before the State of Origin series opener in Brisbane.

The Sea Eagles' fullback had already been Manly's best at Lottoland, scoring their only first-half try and making a long break as the hosts went to halftime down 10-6.

The latest injury came just a week after he reignited their season in Christchurch, scoring two tries and setting up another two in the Sea Eagles' flogging of the Warriors.

That performance had come on return from a similar left hamstring injury, suffered in a pre-season trial against Cronulla.
