Bombers Esports team looking to usurp giants

//

After a convincing split one saw the Essendon Bombers League of Legends team fly through the competition, the team is set to take on the big stage at MSI in Vietnam.

Bombers team captain and support player Jake Sharwood was lost for words post finals.

Speaking exclusively to Wide World of Sports, Sharwood explained that he will place the OPL split accolade in the Essendon Bombers trophy case.

“I remember walking into the Essendon Hangar the day they brought me in," he told Wide World of Sports.

"After I signed, I looked at the trophy cabinet where all the AFL trophies are and said to the big boss man, 'That’s where I’m going to put my trophy'.

“Carrying that trophy in and putting it right there with so much history would be something that means a lot to me.”

The Bombers boast some of the best talent in the Oceanic region with two South Korean Imports Min "Mimic" Ju-seong and Choi "BalKhan" Hyun-jin added to the roster helped push the team to an international level.

The Mid Seasonal Invitational is the first international tournament hosted by Riot Games for the 2019 season.

The tournament will see League of Legend celebrities such as Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng
