Segeyaro fairy tale sends Roosters packing

//

From making coffee as a barista only weeks ago, James Segeyaro has scored the winning try on debut for the Broncos to see off the Roosters 15-10 at Suncorp Stadium.

Segeyaro was a late inclusion in Anthony Seibold’s squad having joined as a mid-season recruit from Cronulla after their salary cap woes forced him to start the year playing in the NSW Cup.

His time out of the top-flight was undetectable however as he duped the reigning premiers’ back-line with a quick pump out of dummy half before cannoning himself over the line for the Broncos’ winning try in 70th minute.

That was enough to see off the Roosters who looked a ways off their best with only a singly try from superstar centre Latrell Mitchell to show for their efforts.

Having seemingly settled on the right formula after dispatching Manly last week, Brisbane managed to string consecutive wins for the first time this season, with the highly touted young forward pack clicking beautifully.
