Origin injury curse hits Maroons

//

Queensland faces an agonising wait over Jai Arrow's availability for State of Origin II after the Gold Coast forward was helped off the field in the Titans' 24-20 loss to the Warriors.

Arrow left the field with a possible ankle injury and gave Maroons' coach Kevin Walters some selection headaches when the Queensland side is picked on Sunday.

The lock made a regulatory hit up in the 27th minute but fell awkwardly, with his leg getting caught underneath the tackle.

Queensland coach Kevin Walters was calling the game for Fox Sports and was optimistic about the Maroons star's predicament.

“I’m okay as long as Jai’s okay,” Walters said.

“He’ll have to leave the field obviously. He’ll be alright, he’s a tough bugger,” Walters said.

If injury rules him out, Arrow will join a growing Origin casualty ward with Canberra’s NSW wing Nick Cotric ruled out for game two with an ankle problem, while Newcastle and Blues prop David Klemmer will likely miss both games due to a broken wrist.
