Emotional Sutton calls it quits

//

South Sydney veteran John Sutton will retire from the NRL at the end of the season.

Sutton announced his decision to call it quits at a press conference at Redfern Oval on Wednesday morning.

Sutton is the most-capped Rabbitohs' player of all time and played 329 games for the club and will finish with over 330 by the end of the season.

He captained the club to its famous premiership in 2014, ending a 43-year title drought.

"I absolutely love this club and everything it stands for. It's stood by me for 20 years and I know within myself I have given everything possible to pay the club back," Sutton said.
