Penrith probe 'disgraceful' violence at junior semi

//

Disgraceful player and crowd behaviour at junior league is set to again be in the spotlight, with Penrith investigating an ugly series of incidents in an A Grade semi-final last weekend.

In a match between Cambridge Park and Colyton, it is alleged:

*A young touch judge was threatened by a supporter, who yelled: "I'll smash this bottle through your face."

*The match ended in a wild brawl, with one player sent off after running 25 metres to throw a coward punch.

*Several spectators tried to get involved in the fighting but were restrained by other members of the crowd.

*A female onlooker was recording the drama but had her phone knocked out of her hands and was slapped across the face.

"It was disgraceful and the Penrith Junior League has been made aware of what happened," an eyewitness told Wide World of Sports.

"This sort of thing is just not on and has to be stamped out."
